#11 Changes
You need to be brave. To change, to come back and eventually, to reinvent yourself.
It’s been a while my beloved connoisseurs. The first change you are noticing is the language. I decided to switch my publications on substack from Italian to English. The main reason why is because I have changed the city and the country I live in and my daily conversations are now in the tongue of commerce and poetry. I hope this twist will find you well and supportive and for those who are not so confident with the language, this might be a good opportunity to practice.
You have not heard from me since February 2024 and I am sorry for this long break. To be fully and brutally honest with you, I had a complicated year. I felt myself lost in many possible mays, confused. I was afraid of reflecting those unclear feelings here. 2024 has been a year of important decisions: we moved from our beloved apartment in Turin to a new place in town and after a renovation and two movings … I got the job opportunity of my dreams and we packed everything again and we moved to Zurich, Switzerland at the end of the year.
The selection phase for this new job has been long and intense and in the meanwhile Luca, my husband, was having difficult times with his company. We both needed support from each other but not really having the right energies to do it. We were physically and mentally very tired both from the 4 movings we did in a year and from the professional challenges we were facing. But hey! Here we are, well, happy and together! In … Zurich!
It was not easy to make such a big change in our lives but at the same time, it was much needed. We packed our Jeep with the essential, and we crossed the Gottardo Tunnel to reach the country of lakes and forests.
Our rhythms changed, here instead of aperitives in crowded Bar’s you go for an healing walk in the forest at the end of the day. It has been an opportunity to slow down, to re-centre, to meet new people, to observe our lives from a different perspective and I am still understanding and experiencing the beautiful but intense change it has been so far.
I will tell you more as we reconnect with each other. I missed this creative, personal and unique space as much as I enjoy now being back writing, dreaming and finding ways to express myself.
Let me conclude sharing with you some pictures of this beautiful new city and our new nest.
Thank you for your precious time my beloved connoisseurs.
Your,
Letizia
